GFZ is the German national research centre for Geosciences, hosting currently around 1180 staff and is active in all fields of Earth science including geodesy, geology, geophysics, mineralogy, and geochemistry in a multidisciplinary scientific and technical environment.
Section 5.4 Hydrology has internationally recognized research experience in the entire flood risk chain and in risk assessment methods. We develop simulation models of the various processes and calculate probabilities of occurrence and intensity for hydrological extreme events.
